More than ten years dedicated to building schools where both students and teachers thrive — in the classroom, in assessment, and in the training room.
I'm Aboobacker Sidheeque — a school leader, educator and resource person based in Kerala, with more than ten years dedicated to building schools where both students and teachers thrive.
My work sits at the meeting point of leadership, assessment and teacher development. I currently serve as Academic Director of MES Central School Vengara and Meridian Public School Pandallur, and have previously served as Principal of Al Haramain English School, Kozhikode, and The Oxford School, Thiruvananthapuram; Peace International School, Trikaripur; and Eranad Knowledge City Public School, Manjeri. Each role has deepened one conviction: good schools are built by empowered, well-supported teachers.
I believe assessment should reveal learning, not merely rank it. Much of my work has gone into competency-based assessment — designing tools and frameworks that help teachers understand how children actually learn. My most significant contribution is a comprehensive 360° Holistic Progress Card for CBSE schools: built for the foundational stage and balancing competency development with learning outcomes, it has since been introduced in multiple schools across Kerala. A PG Diploma in Educational Assessment and an MA in Education from Azim Premji University anchor this work in both research and practice.
As an empanelled Resource Person with the CBSE Centre of Excellence, Thiruvananthapuram — and now with Oxford University Press — I've led over 100 training sessions for educators nationwide, on Strengthening Assessment & Evaluation Practices, Learning Outcomes and Pedagogy, NEP 2020 and NCF, Life Skills, Happy Classrooms, mental health and wellbeing, and engaging parents as partners in education.
Whether I'm leading a school, designing an assessment framework, or standing before a room of teachers, the goal is the same — to inspire, empower and transform the people who shape young lives.
Education is not the filling of a vessel, but the kindling of a flame. Our role as educators is to ignite curiosity, nurture potential, and empower every learner to discover their unique path to excellence.
I believe in creating learning environments where students are active participants in their own growth, where teachers are lifelong learners, and where schools are communities of continuous improvement and innovation.
Beyond the classroom
It is about shaping character, fostering curiosity, and building resilient communities.
I believe that every child possesses an innate potential waiting to be unlocked. As educators, our role is not merely to instruct, but to inspire — to create environments where students feel safe to explore, question and grow.
Tools and systems I've designed and put into practice across schools and organisations.
